Despite heavy rain showers, the pigeons from Bourges still fall smoothly!

Last Saturday, July 29th, all pigeons were released from Momignies to Sermaises, and the pigeon racing season was in full swing. The release of the pigeons in Bourges was postponed to Sunday, despite the good weather along the flight route. Eventually, the pigeons in Bourges were released on Sunday morning at 8:15 am. The pigeon flights went smoothly overall, despite some heavy rain showers in our region.

Verbruggen Gommaire: Local Winner and also winner in New Hageland!

Verbruggen Gommaire, based in Scherpenheuvel, enjoyed a glorious victory in the yearling category on Saturday. Their pigeon achieved a speed of 1649.31m/m, securing Gommaire's convincing win. This speed not only earned them the first place locally but also regionally against a staggering 254 young birds. With another outstanding second pigeon clocking a speed of 1630.76m/m, Gommaire claimed the 2nd spot in the local rankings. This performance was enough to outdo Vanwinkel Jef from Tielt-Winge, who secured a strong third place.

Maes Danny & Elisabeth: Local winners Old Birds

Maes Danny & Elisabeth took home the first prize locally in the old bird category. Their pigeon achieved a speed of 1615.02m/m, securing them victory in a race against 38 old birds. This achievement placed them ahead of Vanwinkel Jef, who occupied the second to sixth positions among the old birds. Vanwinkel showcased his skills by clocking early pigeons both in the old and young bird categories on this national Bourges race!
