The season of 2023 has come to a close, and the championships in the world of pigeon racing are proudly announced through various channels. It is with great joy that we can announce that our members have performed exceptionally well in various championships. Below, you will find an overview of the impressive results achieved by some of our members.

Samenspel Hageland Championships

In the realm of pigeon racing, it is no surprise that experience and consistency often lead to success. Leon Vrancken from Scherpenheuvel has once again demonstrated this with an exceptionally strong season in 2023, reaffirming his performance from the previous season of 2022. Despite racing with a limited number of pigeons, Leon achieved remarkable results, exemplified by his impressive 3rd place in the overall Samenspel Hageland championship.

Leon also dominated in the small-speed championships within Samenspel Hageland, where no one performed better on flights from Momignies. Alongside Leon, there were strong performances from other talented pigeon fanciers such as Geert Beken, Francois Daniels, and Louis Verheyen in these championships. A special mention goes to Tim Van Roy from Scherpenheuvel, who secured the 2nd place in the championship for young pigeons in the large-speed category in his first season as an "independent" pigeon enthusiast. An impressive start to his pigeon racing career!

Hafo Vlaams-Brabant 1/2 Fond Championships

Championships in the 1/2 fond category have always been a challenging competition within pigeon racing. A name that consistently appears in the list of champions in this field is Georges De Keyser from Messelbroek. Few pigeon fanciers perform as consistently and impressively in these races as Georges De Keyser. He rightfully claims the title of overall champion in the Hafo Vlaams-Brabant 1/2 Fond category for the year 2023. A remarkable achievement to be proud of at the De Keyser household in Messelbroek.

Louis Verheyen, hailing from Scherpenheuvel, deserves recognition for his impressive 2nd place in the championship for young pigeons 1+2 in the 1/2 fond category.

Hafo Vlaams-Brabant Zware 1/2 Fond Championships

In the heavy 1/2 fond category, it is Louis Verheyen from Scherpenheuvel who proudly claims the title of overall champion in Hafo Vlaams-Brabant for the year 2023. Louis has once again had a fantastic season, showcasing his prowess on flights ranging from speed to heavy 1/2 fond. His all-around pigeons performed remarkably well, a testament to his dedication and the exceptional pigeons he keeps in his lofts.

Furthermore, Louis can also crown himself as the overall champion of the year 2023 at the Verenigde Vrienden Scherpenheuvel, a well-deserved honor for this talented pigeon fancier. In the Marcel Zeelmaekersstraat, preparations can now begin for the upcoming breeding season and the new racing season, while Louis reflects on a successful season filled with highlights.
