Due to the predicted changeable weather and cold temperatures, several enthusiasts dropped out and kept their pigeons at home. Yet, 151 old pigeons were still basketed on Momignies and 206 old pigeons on Soissons. From this weekend, the release hours were also adjusted and our pigeons are released 10 minutes after the pigeons from sector 3.
The Flight from Momignies
For the flight from Momignies, a total of 151 old pigeons were basketed. Despite the cold and changeable weather, the pigeons could be released at 9:10, which is 10 minutes later than the release of Flemish Brabant sector 3. This was a decision by the KBDB top, who intervened to prevent too much time between the different releases.
Leon Vrancken clocked his first pigeon at 10:40.05 and achieved a speed of 1307.4561m/m, which was good for the victory against 151 old pigeons. On the registrations of sector 2, this was good for a 5th place against 1442 pigeons. Leon was only beaten by 4 pigeons from the tandem Jespers-Vanderwegen from Holsbeek.
On the local result, Louis Verheyen achieved the 2nd place with a speed of 1300.0184m/m, which was good for the seventh registration in sector 2. The third place was for Leon Vrancken with his second pigeon who achieved a speed of 1294.9973m/m and was good for a 9th place in the list with the registrations of sector 2. Leon clocked no less than 4 pigeons in the top 10, proof that the old pigeons of Leon Vrancken are in shape early in the season!
The Flight from Soissons
For the flight from Soissons, 206 old pigeons were basketed. The pigeons were released at 8:50, also here 10 minutes later than the pigeons from Flemish Brabant sector 3. Here Gommaire Verbruggen clocked no less than the first 6 prizes against 206 old pigeons. Gommaire clocked his first pigeon at 11.29320m/m. In the list with the registrations of sector 2, Gommaire clocked the 5-6-7th place against 1143 pigeons! Gommaire also shows that he has his pigeons ready at the start of the new season. If Gommaire can continue the line of 2023, people will also have to take into account Gommaire on the national flights.
Flights next weekend
Next week, the flights from Momignies and Soissons are on the program for old pigeons. Normally Nanteuil was on the calendar, but in Nanteuil one can/may not release pigeons, so PE Flemish Brabant moves to Soissons. There will also be guarantees in the miezen among the old pigeons. On Momignies, 1 mies will be guaranteed and on Soissons, 2 miezen will be guaranteed!
