Walter Lambeets wins the last autumn flight from Laon

Successful Autumn Flight from Laon: A Strong End to the Season

For the last autumn flight from Laon, 150 pigeons were basketed in Scherpenheuvel, including 145 young pigeons and 5 old pigeons. Compared to last week, several enthusiasts dropped out due to pigeons not being in their feathers and the predicted east wind. For these last flights, 18 young pigeons were still placed with a stake of 2.50 euros.

At 9:10 AM, the 150 pigeons were released in Laon. For this last flight of the season, both the pigeons and the enthusiasts could count on a beautiful Saturday with lots of sun and pleasant temperatures. There have been weekends when the weather was less favorable than for this last flight of the season.

At 11:20 AM, three pigeons descended from the sky at Walter Lambeets’ place in Aarschot. With this, Walter clocked the first three prizes against 145 young pigeons. It was the pigeon with ring number 2072570-24 that arrived at the loft first at 11:20:08 and won against 145 young pigeons with a speed of 1363.1634 meters per minute. Walter not only clocked the first three prizes but also 14 prizes from his 18 basketed pigeons.

Not only did Walter Lambeets from Aarschot clock his pigeons continuously, but Rudy and Sabrina Brans from Rillaar also clocked their pigeons continuously in Scherpenheuvel. Rudy and Sabrina started with the third prize locally against 145 pigeons and clocked 14 pigeons in the top 17 on the local result in Scherpenheuvel. Rudy and Sabrina clocked 32 prizes from 58 basketed pigeons. Thus, Walter and Rudy can look back on a strong performance in this last flight of the season in Scherpenheuvel.

While most enthusiasts stop with the pigeons because the form is gone for most enthusiasts and the pigeons are in their feathers, the pigeons of Walter Lambeets and Rudy and Sabrina Brans are in excellent form. For these enthusiasts, the end of the season comes too soon.

With this, the 2024 season in Scherpenheuvel comes to an end, a beautiful season despite the turbulent start at the beginning of the new season.
