Introduction
This year, the KBDB elections are on the agenda, and it will be the first time that members can vote on provincial and national election lists. The term of office for the elected officials is six years. Members who wish to participate in these elections can submit their candidacy to the KBDB. Candidates must be no older than 71 years and must submit their candidacy no later than February 14 at 12:00 pm (postmark counts).
Voting Procedure
Members will receive their ballot along with the federation magazine at the beginning of July, including a postage-paid envelope. Members must cast their vote no later than August 1 (postmark counts). The vote is only valid if the ballot is sent in the provided envelope, which does not need to be stamped. Ballots cannot be sent by email or fax. We will assist our members if needed and will provide an information evening for those interested.
Candidacies
It has been quiet so far regarding candidacies for the upcoming KBDB elections. The question is also who is willing to take on this adventure in Vlaams-Brabant, sector 2 and 3. It is certain that the candidates must be resilient, as this task will not be an easy one for the next six years.
Simplification of Regulations
Pigeon racing can actually be simple: create clear regulations that everyone understands, without loopholes, and that apply to all KBDB members. However, this is easier said than done.
Panel Discussion
In the previous KBDB elections, we organized a panel discussion with the new candidates. Perhaps we should organize such a panel discussion again? This is the ideal way to get to know the candidates and for them to explain their program and vision. If any candidates are interested, they can prepare a text that we will gladly post online. They can also indicate whether they are interested in participating in a panel discussion with the candidates for the upcoming KBDB elections.
With sporty regards,
The Board
