Last weekend, various competitions tested the skills and endurance of old pigeons. Under beautiful weather conditions, a total of **833 old pigeons** were basketed by enthusiasts in Scherpenheuvel, leading to thrilling races and impressive performances.
Race from Momignies
In **Momignies**, **108 old pigeons** were basketed by **15 enthusiasts**. The race was released at **08:10** under ideal conditions. The lofts in **Aarschot, near UNIKAMP-Schoonhoven**, continue to dominate the race from Momignies. **Lucienne Asselberghs** managed to redeem herself after last week's defeat and secured the **top three prizes**. **Bruno Vrancken** from **Rillaar**, who played 100%, clocked **three prizes from three entered pigeons**, while **Marc van Oosterwyck** from **Testelt** and **Geert Van Goolen** also achieved strong percentages.
Race from Soissons
From **Soissons**, **258 old pigeons** from **22 enthusiasts** participated. The victory went to **Bruno Vrancken**, followed by **Roger Didden and son from Messelbroek**, who secured second and third place. **Didden and son** demonstrated absolute efficiency by achieving a **100% prize score**, with **seven prizes from seven entered pigeons**. Most pigeons were basketed in **Scherpenheuvel** for the race from **Toury**, where **23 enthusiasts** entered **467 old pigeons**. In a highly competitive race, **Arien-De Keyser-Kaier** from **Houwaart** secured the **top two prizes** against tough competition. **Verbruggen** claimed **third place**, while **Alfons Janssens and Victor Valvekens** also clocked early pigeons from Toury. **Tim Van Roy**, who entered **11 old pigeons**, achieved an impressive **92.31% prize percentage**, against strong contenders and under challenging conditions.
Race from Vierzon
For the race from **Vierzon**, **Lucian Mihailescu** secured victory. With **two pigeons in the prizes** in the **Brabantse-Unie**, he proved that his old pigeons are ready for the tougher races. His pigeons will soon be prepared for the upcoming long-distance races, where he hopes to once again finish among the winners.
