Motivation and Reward: Feed Vouchers During the 2025 Racing Season

During the 2025 racing season, Verenigde Vrienden Scherpenheuvel launched a targeted initiative to encourage participation up to the €2.50 mies threshold. On each flight, a voucher for a bag of pigeon feed was awarded to the fancier of the last pigeon on the result sheet, provided that no €2.50 mies was drawn. The aim of this approach was to keep the competitive spirit alive until the very end and to motivate participants to continue placing entries up to the €2.50 mies.

The initiative proved to be notably successful. On several flights, the fancier who clocked the last pigeon without drawing a €2.50 mies received a bag of pigeon feed, and an additional voucher was regularly awarded for the HWG prize (Half Way). Thanks to this formula, the €2.50 mies participation remained consistent, reinforcing both the sporting atmosphere and member engagement within the club.
